I designed and built this bassinet for my daughter with a goal to create something that could be easily assembled, stored, and shipped. I was inspired by the ease and practicality of contemporary flat pack furniture to design a piece that could be easily and compactly stored when not in use. Additionally, the bassinet’s Danish modern style enables it to fit seamlessly into almost any decor.
Built in solid wood, the bassinet is held together with traditional wedged mortise and tenon joinery. It has no metal fasteners and no glue joints. Assembly requires only a small hammer. It is finished with shellac, an all natural finish.
